This sub is consuming a lot of my mental energy and I have other things to do but I just want to leave with this for now. I think, even though we come from very different perspectives, we all want the same thing. We want peace. We want respect. We want to be seen, to be heard, to be taken seriously. I come from a white bi woman's point of view and that is my positionality, and your positionalities are different from mine, which can result in misunderstanding.
If we want peace, if we want understanding and to be heard, if we want real conversation and change, please just remember to always consider where someone is coming from. Please always put yourself in their shoes. Please remember to always have empathy. Please remember that most of the time, anger comes from a source of fear and pain, from constantly being misunderstood and ignored. No experience, mine or yours, is invalid.
I know it can be hard to be a man today. I know it is discouraging and painful to see posts online saying that they hate men, men are terrible, etc etc. But you have to always remember where it comes from. It is not baseless. That being said, no one deserves to be condemned for their gender. Everyone deserves love, appreciation, and respect. Men and women. But just please remember, to always put yourself in another person's shoes. To really try and understand why someone who you think is being unreasonable might think the way they do. I firmly believe once everyone gains empathy, introspection, and self awareness, the world can be a much better and more peaceful place.
Thanks.
