But that author isn't.

This guy is arguing from a Mary Daly standpoint which acknowledges that of course there are men are victims of other men, but ultimately the actor, the one responsible for all of the suffering is 'the patriarchy' a vague term that isn't really well defined in this article, other than it some how relates to men.
As for equality, I find it's really hard to figure out a good way to be equal when we are blaming anyone of a specific gender (no matter how small the group is).
Mary Daly by the way was a founding theologian of Feminist theory, so saying that people looking at 1960s-1970s feminist literature and theory saying that finally they understand is a little laughable.
TL:Dr Personally I don't think this really says anything that hasn't been said before, sorry.

That's why I like Dworkin (in the context of feminist theory, I really hate the misandrist bitch any other time) because she's not a hypocrite. Dworkin says you can't have equality between men and women in a patriarchial society because women do not want to be rapists and oppressors. Now after putting aside the typical rage I feel whenever I listen to Dworkin go off on her bigoted theories, she has a point. You can be a feminist, or you can be an egalitarian but you can't be both.

Current feminist tactics hurts men and stunt the progression of change because all it does is blame men
If you define The Patriarchy as society then yes men are victims of society. Specifically the parts of society feminism created over the last 50 years.

Oh, the old "patriarchy is the cause of all the injustice in the world" argument. Funny that the author talks about victim blaming and then uses a term that blames men for their own suffering. And yes, I'm aware that "The Patriarchy" may or may not be synonymous with "Men" but the word is and many feminists take it as such and, instead of blaming some shadow idea of cultural gender roles, blame the men around them every day further perpetuating the gender divide instead of fixing it.
Just for comparison, what do you think the response would be if I walked into a women's studies class and just replaced the word "patriarchy" with "matriarchy". No definition change (other than anywhere it says male change it to female) and just ran with it. Somehow I doubt I would get a very welcoming response from telling the women in this women's studies class that "The Matriarchy" harms men, but it also harms women as well, they just can't see it like men can. That men are the visible victims of "The Matriarchy" and women need to realize the harm it does that they fail to see.
Is it really any wonder men are not keen on joining an organization that is essentially blaming them for all the problems in the world?

They think if they pat you on the head and make promises you'll go back to being good doggies.

Hello all,
Thank you for your great comments. I'm the authour of the article. I'm taking all your comments onboard and we have a think about my stance.
I never intended "the patriarchy" to be purely men. The patriarchy is unfortunately just the culture we live in at the moment, it happens to favour men however men and women allow it to survive and continue.
(btw I'm not a guy, lesbians can be angry at the current state of feminism as well. I have too many guy friends getting too much bullshit to really be happy with the state of feminism being All About The Women)
Feel free to email me at [email protected] or leave a comment on my blog highlighting some of your concerns with the article and I'll get back to you.
Cheers.

Wrong. Feminism needs to die. It's become a hate movement.
I've moved beyond trying to reason with bigots, and have gone on the offensive on reddit and in real life. Their tactics are stale and predictable, and I won't be shamed or disparaged for calling feminism what it is, and how it has never been and will never be about helping men.
Every single day men lose their homes, their livelihoods, access to their children, their freedom, or are forced to stay in abusive relationships under threat of losing everything, and feminists don't care, and they do nothing to help. Fuck them.
I hope every single one of them has a man in their lives ruined by the anti-male culture they've created. I hope they are barred from their grandchildrens' lives by a vindictive daughter-in-law. I eagerly await bathing in their sweet tears of recognition of the monster they've birthed with their entitled vaginas.
It's war, now, and women have no experience in war.
Pop, pop, pop, watchin' comment karma drop.

American style "gender-feminism" already includes men, just not men of the hetero-gender.
