Playground proofing

One of my friends is a teachers assistant and said they have banned all rough play, banned running kids can now only walk or skip(god knows why) they have banned playing conkers any game or sport that a child could get hurt is either banned or needs constant supervision, to make the area a safe place, though I disagree with the last part, I think it will have the opposite effect men will be "whipped" I mean look how many socially award people there are now days, no one knows how to interact because they are out of their safe places, the more we protect young children the scarier we make the world for them.

It's a sad statement that we need to protect everyone, rather than let them learn from their mistakes and their failures.

Men like Henry Ford and Leonardo Da Vinci and countless other people, male and female, made mistakes, by the thousands. The difference here is that these great people took their mistakes and used their experiences to make something great. To change the world.

In such a risk-adverse, protected world, where will we find the leaders of tomorrow? Those who push past the obstacles and try prototype after prototype, mistake after mistake, in the pursuit of something great?

I believe we won't find such leaders. To avoid risks is to avoid knowledge. And without pushing the borders of knowledge, we stay within the shell we create for ourselves.

This disjointed rant brought to you by the first thing that popped into my mind
