My brother is 41 yrs old, not married, technically in a common law relationship with a woman we will call X.

My brother and X have been together for 7 yrs off and on and it has not been a normal relationship by any means.

She is physically, mentally and emotionally abusive to my brother. My brother is also not really the most confident guy and is definetly a defeated man.

To make things worse, he has 5 yr old Autistic son with her. Who my brother loves dearly and my brother basically lives to just provide for his son, X and Xs children from a previous marriage.

He is terrified of losing his son or losing access to his son which X is constantly threatening him with.

X has falsely accused my brother of physical violence when in fact she is the one causing the harm.

I have seen her be not gentle with my 5 yr old autistic nephew.

Friday night X had a mental breakdown or whatever and frigging stabbed my brother in the head with a small kitchen knife while I was laying down beside his son.

My brother has video of it and yet the police told my brother to leave and go to hospital. They let X stay home with his son!!! (Wtf)

My brother is devastated and now living with me in my place.

I have had enough and so has he.

We want to extricate his son and work towards him Starting fresh. Legally of course.

But we haven't the faintest idea where to start. He doesn't have Alot of money but I will help him.

We are in Ontario Canada

Any advice or direction is greatly appreciated
