I have been a part of the Men's Rights Movement for 8 years. Throughout those years, I have attended local MRA meetings, attempted to lobby my congressmen to get legislation passed, been an active member of this forum and others. One problem I have encountered is a lack of information. I'm a fact junkie. I love reading research and statistics and academic papers. Being that there are multitudes of issues affecting men (disparity in incarceration rates, circumcision, family courts, etc.), I would like to build one place to find information on all of them. I am an Android developer and would like to use my skills to help the movement. I've been thinking about this for a while and thought I'd bring it to Reddit for some input. Here's a list of my ideas for an app so far:

  • A news section with current events related to men's rights
  • A page dedicated to legislation to support or oppose. I've even thought about doing an alert system so when pivotal legislation is about to be passed, the app would send an alert so users could call their legislators.
  • A list of companies/products to support/boycott. Commercials that degrade men--boycott those products and/or start a social media campaign. Or those that paint men in a positive light we would support.
  • A fact section with stats and sources on men's rights issues.
  • A place where MRAs can list and find upcoming events in their areas.
  • A section where you can look up your representatives and find out how many actual votes they need to win their district based on how many they won by in the last election. This would give you a ballpark on how many people to organize for or against them depending on their stance on men's rights issues.
  • I have been recording videos of women hitting men on television shows, movies and commercials. I have hundreds and would like more. There would be a section where you could record and upload a clip when you run across one.

I wanted to gauge interest in an app like this and also am interested in input and additional ideas. Let me know what you think!
