Some of the signees include Elizabeth Bartholet from Harvard Law, several professors from the George Mason School of Law, as well as past and current directors of the ACLU. The organizations that have signed the letter are heavily involved in defending due process rights for accused students, including Families Advocating for Campus Equality and the group Stop Abusive and Violent Environments, as well as the National Association of Scholars.

Good to see more ACLU people finally getting involved; hopefully we'll see more official involvement going forward.

This has always been a civil liberties/civil rights issue as long as the government is involved in it, it is a shame it got to this point, but any government basically saying they can punish without trial is a problem.

That really surprises me that ACLU is getting on board. I assumed they were ignoring the issue because defending accused rapists isn't PC or pro-feminist.
