According to Politico defense reporter Connor O'Brien, the Senate Armed Services Committee approved equal draft registration as part of their FY 2023 NDAA markup.

This is just a first step, since it was approved last year and was removed at the last minute when the NDAA process ran long, but this is still a big development.
