In the prejudice section of my social psychology textbook, David G Myers writes "Question: 'Misogyny' is the hatred of women. What is the corresponding word for the hatred of men? Answer: In most dictionaries, no such word exists"

Textbook is Social Psychology (this is 4th canadian edition) by Myers, Spencer, and Jordan

The only thing I would add is you are actually looking for a 'male version' of 'misogynist'.

Misogynist is the female version, because it pertains to females.

Saying 'female version' makes it sound like 'misogynist' can only describe men, and that misandrist can only describe women.

These words don't mean hatred of the opposite sex. We could make a word to collectively describe that (like mishetero...something?) but these terms do not specify the gender of the hater, only the object of hatred.

Forgive the cynicism but one random jackass expanding their vocabulary is not "progress".

But if these are the lofty goals of the MRM these days, its no wonder men are being steadily left in the dust.
