Everything about circumcision is bad. Wait, bad is not enough. Absolute evil is it.

The act itself is abusive - call it blood ritual, it's not a surgery because it has no valid medical purpose. So it is medical fraud in the first place. It is amputation of part of your genitals, performed without your consent, usually without painkillers. That's mayhem and torture. Sometimes it goes worse and causes total emasculation, or even death by infection or blood loss.

The sexual effect is negative - it reduces your capacity to feel sexual pleasure and increases the likelihood of problems like impotence and pain during sex.

The aesthetic effect is abominable - it gives your body an unnatural scarred appearance.

I am circumcised and I think nothing of it.

Does that mean all baby boys, or any children, should have their genitalia forcibly removed?

What even is consent? What if someone wants to tattoo their baby? Should they be allowed to? At what point then are ages of consents a thing? Similarly what is medical consent?

I've lost the hearing in my left ear, and I hardly think about it. When it happened, over 20 years ago, though, it was frightening, but it's become my normality. Not having a whole penis shouldn't be considered a normality.

I'll be supportive here because I can see why you might not think it's so bad. You've been living with this and not known anything else, like me. If something's going on with a vagina a woman goes to a gynecologist; if something's going on with a penis, a man goes...nowhere, no nation or university has a serious andrology course or initiative, so there is hardly any study or information to spread about men's specific biological issues and functions. I wasn't aware really until my (excellent) doctor made me aware that recent bedroom difficulties were caused by glans keratinization, the drying-out of the tip of the penis. You lose sensitivity and general nerve function, even blood vessels at the end are thinner. All it took was some lotion, acting in place of the natural silky sheath and lubricant that would have existed under the foreskin's hood if I were allowed to keep it, and it slowly got its nerves back to some healthiness. For comparison, imagine if the labial lips of a vagina were removed and how a vagina would lack all moisture. Similar effect, different shape and amount of area effected.

Imagine a world where everyone's outer ears are cut off as tradition. They can still hear, but it's just not as effective, just not the same, and it ultimately is pointless to cut them. Some say it's because those ears are easier to clean than uncut ones. Some people, after having been used to ears being that way, think they just look better. Other people do it as a religious tradition, to consecrate someone's body into being in the proper condition of what their god wants of them and have influenced the modern secular tradition. People start getting smarter and start getting into feelings of denial; "Why would my parents do this to me? I know it's pointless, detrimental, and ultimately thoughtless, but they're good people." Some more people question it and then double back; "It's good to be like my parents." or "I'm this way, it only makes sense my child should be the same way."

And everyone just lets this elephant in the room keep eating the peanuts out of their bowl and eventually it finally takes a big, filthy, smelly shit and makes them realize what they've done. Such an elephant doesn't belong in this room with civilized humans, it belongs out in the savannah where folks don't know or have access to methods to clean themselves properly. See what I'm saying, here? Please do, a lot of people are sick of the piles of elephant shit their parents are leaving on their laps. You can help prevent that shit from being on your child's lap.

TBH I had a lot of fun making that metaphor.
