I have noticed several links here and elsewhere on reditt that direct to Change.org petitions. While I don't doubt people creating these petitions have good intentions, I truly doubt their efficacy. Change.org is a for-profit website, without any real sort of accountability for privacy practices and outcomes. Of the thousands of petitions hosted, I can think of only 4-5 that have actually resulted in any "change." It's basically an email/data mining operation. Perhaps there are better platforms to use for petition hosting?
