Study finds that when all conditions are identical, female applicants are favored over male applicants by 2:1 for STEM tenure. This wouldn't be possible in a system with systemic male privilege!

We should be trying to spread the story of the Canadian court who found the female pedophile non-dangerous.

When you hear a man say "my wife won't let me do that" or "I'm not allowed", that would be considered controlling/abusive if reversed.

Reminder- the Men's Rights Movement is NOT part of the alt-right, or connected to today's rally. We are not political in any sphere other than men's issues.

Study shows that people who identify as feminists are more likely to sacrifice men.

Problem is, i don't see men in real life suffering from the flu any more than the women do.

What does this have to do with men's rights?

Being aware of men's health issues is important, there should be research into male specific health issues like there is for women. Also, you could consider the economic impact being sick more often and longer and worse would have.

It confirms the biological fact that men and women are different in more ways than one.

It's something that should be studied more to figure out why. People with compromised immune system can die to trivial diseases so finding out why same diseases affect the genders differently will end up saving lives. Also the funding given to the research of women's issues exceeds the amount used on men's issues, which is something you really can't call equality.

When did the "What does this have to do with men's rights?" meme start? I've seen it a lot lately even though the answer to the question is usually completely obvious.

Just seems like not the best thing to draw attention to. Feminists don't take the high suicide rate seriously, so they definitely aren't going to take this seriously. I would feel silly mentioning those too things in the same breath, because one is death and the other is arguably no worse than menstruation, which all women endure. It's just not a very big fish nor is it an injustice in my opinion.

What does feminism have to do with men's issues? By that logic this entire sub should be deleted. And before you try to spin my argument against the anti-feminism rampant on this sub, apples and oranges.

This sub is here to bring men's issues into light, no matter how trivial one might think they are.

[–]Talbooth -5 points-4 points-3 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

While this is unfortunate, we can't help it, so it's not worth the energy to talk about it in the context of "men's rights".

[–]Mallago 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I disagree. Awareness of male specific health issues makesAdvocacy of research into gender specific health factors and development of treatment for them easier.

[–]Talbooth 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Good point. Haven't thought of the research part.

EDIT: Congratulations, you actually changed the mind of somebody on the internet.

I think you should give him Reddit gold

We can fix how sick men are treated, i.e. not being mocked for "man flu" when it turns out we literally have worse symptoms.

[–]DevoutSubculture 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Can't help any of this dude, there are no politicans with a platform for men's rights. Nothing can be done about men's problems except posting about it pointlessly forever.
