This center actually enjoys the full support of the Swedish feminist community (most men's right issues have actually been addressed by feminists - it is the notion that they add up to anything akin to the systemic oppression of women that rubs them the wrong way). But reading some of the discussions in Swedish, it is pretty clear that the assumption is that the majority of male rape victims to which this center would cater are victims of male-perpetrated abuse. Female-perpetrated abuse is only recognised when the victims are children, and even then sparingly so.

I mean... I'm a sexual assault advocate for one of these rape crisis centers in USA. We are trained to deal with male victims in particular. Our community educator is always coming up with new ways to combat the male rape victim stigma. I have been in a hospital room with males who have been raped while they get a rape kit done. So this isnt news to me. But, I could see the benefit of a male only center, considering the stigma. I wonder if Sweden has the same kind of stigma that USA has.
