The difference in wages between the median working woman and median working man is 81/100. If adjusted to compare men and women of the same title and same years of experience, the gap becomes ~96/100.

At a 96/100 gap, men in salaried jobs would only have to work 4% more hours (1.5 hr for 40hr work week) for the wage gap to be gone. Or perhaps women work more overtime? For the most part, salaried jobs do not record it, and hourly jobs pretend it never happened.

So it's either apex fallacy, or "median fallacy." Either way, it's a fallacy.

rationalwiki is extremely biased towards mainstream social justice groups. they're basically ran by a bunch of hard leftists. they're a decent source for debunking dumb conspiracy theories and for making fun of people that you and they might have a mutual dislike for, but that's about it

On the article:

They claim an accusation against feminism to be a strawman based on what they determine feminists to actually say. How was that determined? Where does that info come from? Source: trust me bro. I do not even have to disagree to point that out. Then again, there are de facto feminists who do and those who don't make that claim, making it more of an issue of generalizations rather than a strawman per se, unless of course every feminist engaging in that logic would be denied their feminist status, which would be unreasonable considering that engaging in fallicious logic would not at all be incompatible with wanting to achieve equality, regardless of whether or not defining a movement that way makes any sense anyway. Until now, that part of the article is merely anything but an opinion.

Another aspect to consider is the fact that the wage gap in particular could be prone to the apex fallacy, considering that a comparitively low amount of very high earning men could skew the averages. If that is the case is a different topic.

On the wiki:

They do not aim to stay neutral nor constructive at all times and use whatever they consider "humor" and at least one of the trustees is openly dismissive of men's issues, stating she is a feminist because:

Egalitarianism is just feel good platitude that won't accomplish anything.

Further elaborating:

Men do get disadvantages in some aspects and we should level them but women have far more disadvantages overall and if we need to level the playing field, naturally this means proportionally giving more rights to women especially if they are in a racial minority. Men can have bad vision in the playing field compared to women but women have broken ankles, one arm missing, and twisted backs. We give men glasses, we repair women their serious wounds.

Just be aware that any kind of harassment by anyone reading this will just lead to a further degradation of our reputation, thereby actively hurting us.

They claim to look for constructive dialogue - if your arguments are not based on sexism or hateful, which they decide on and might or might not be biased in. I can see why they say that and could name many valid instances of it, but not why they approach it the way they do. Overall, both the tone and practices show aspects that are destructive to even reasonable debates and would be so in a wiki that critisizes feminism as well. In fact, users that engage in behaviour like that do exist around here and I do not consider them constructive either. Then again, this does not mean that no debate is possible, or that they actually follow up on all of their statements in the way they could.

If you want to engage in debate, you can try so, but they are not welcoming of conservatism and you should be reasonable in your statements. Provide sources if possible and do not use offensive language even if they do - calling their statements bullshit won't get anyone anywhere they would not have gotten without it: https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/RationalWiki:Constructive_dialogue .
