My wife and I have a "traditional gender role" household. It isn't for any other reason than when we married, I was active duty AF, and even after I got out, I'm still an AF civil servant and travel a lot. It made it easier to raise the kids to have someone home at all times. Now she has chosen to homeschool our kids, so she is still home even though the kids are 9 and 15. This has created 2 issues...

1) Other women look down on her for not "embracing" everything feminism has supposedly allowed her to achieve, and when she says "I'm a stay at home mom," it is automatically assumed I'm "that guy."

2) This mentality of "when dad gets home," started to come up. I had to on many occasions remind my wife that I "did not leave the house and go to a party." In fact, my Air Force job can be extremely stressful. We've worked out a compromise, and do a lot together AS A FAMILY. I don't like the idea that dads are just the nighttime babysitter, and our constant stressors are overlooked and downgraded because we're supposed to "man up."
