Yes this sub is seen as misogynistic, someone recently told me this place is misogynistic and menslib is the sub to go for mens rights, I was horrified to learn that misogyny is so common here so I asked to see the worst of it, only been a week I'm sure he'll link me soon so I can start using menslib instead

Holy shit. Obviously people care about men’s rights if they care about women’s rights. It’s called human rights, and the reason feminism is a thing is because men suppressed women throughout history. Women’s rights isn’t exclusive, it’s saying “women deserve rights TOO”. The implicit “too” is what people like incels and this subreddit miss. No one is advocating for your lack of rights, but instead empowerment so all people are treated fair and equal.

Now to answer your question, most normal people who have social interactions with a variety of people would look down on this subreddit. It’s very clearly a group of people seeking ways to feel victimized.

Everyone keeps complaining that rape accusations against men are “guilty until proven innocent”. I’ll just remind you that the US president has many rape charges against him, and is serving as FUCKING PRESIDENT. The reason people are more inclined to believe women is because it’s an objective fact that women are raped more than men. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen the other way around, but it’s less prevalent and less of a increasing trend than it is with women. I’m a man and was raped freshman year of college by a woman, one of my first weeks. It happened, and although I share an experience many more women understand than men, I recognized I was more of an outlier, rather than living life learning how to protect myself from rapists and consistently worrying about being alone and what person I’m talking to.

(Think of how species have different levels of endangerment. Most animals are facing some decline, but there’s clearly trends pointing to some being much more affected than others. Doesn’t decrease the importance of any, but if you can help the larger group affected, it will be easier to implement changes for smaller groups).

Let's just say there's a reason I'm posting with a throw-away account? Plenty of people here end up being harassed in other subreddits because they happen to have posted here even so much as once, regardless of what their post was about.
