Men are the minority of voters and therefore less of an indicator on a politicians success. Media definitely doesn't care how men vote because reporting on that doesn't generate views/income. Politicians care because while 46%(ish) is a minority it's still a large chunk, but you won't hear them talk about it as much because it won't generate PR while talking about women and minority voters will.
