Now consider this: While it is not known exactly what percentage of sexual assault allegations are false, and while some of the accused have indeed been falsely accused and dragged through years-long disciplinary processes, some experts estimate that the percentage among allegations that are actually false is no more than 8 percent. That’s 8 percent too many, but it is nowhere near a majority.

(1) The 8% statistic is based on false allegations of sexual assault made to police. In contrast, we are here talking about complaints made to campus counselors and kangaroo campus investigators -- people who have no obligation, and in fact are openly hostile, to due process and finding out the real truth behind an allegation. This is a forum where a false allegation may easily achieve an objective of kicking someone out of a school or having them disciplined, based on perceived transgressions, either real or imagined, with no real chance of jail. Notably, people who make false allegations to campus authorities are themselves completely shielded from legal discovery, and have no chance of being prosecuted for perjury or making a false complaint. It is fertile ground for false allegations, and any comparisons to forensic investigations in the context of criminal allegations to police are completely inappropriate.

(2) In cases reported to police, the real number is almost certainly more than 8%. The 8% refers only to those cases where there is sufficient evidence to indicate that the charge is false. There are a great many more cases where investigators are unable to determine whether the allegations are true or false. Inadequate evidence to prove unfounded ≠ genuine. After all, only a minority of all rape allegations meet standards of proof beyond a reasonable doubt sufficient to produce a guilty verdict in a court of law (despite extraordinary social and legal biases to favor accusers).

You know what a survivor is?

A survivor is someone who went for a swim and got their fucking leg chomped off by a shark.

A survivor is someone who went to war and got their arm blown off by an IED.

A survivor is someone who attempted to commit suicide but was a bad shot, and blew off the top of their skull.

Sexual assault sucks. But stop it with this "survivor" nonsense. Grow up and move on.

I am honestly perplexed that the ruling class is willing to embrace feminism to such an extreme extent, because even rich men are subject to false accusations. Granted they can just pay off the supposed victim, and I guess that's why they tolerate it. The super-rich view feminism as highly functional because it disempowers the working class.

Still, this "rape culture" bullshit is so far beyond the pale as to be almost unbelievable. Article is not from Jezebel but the Washington fucking Post.

It is becoming increasingly clear that most rape accusations are false. If I'm wrong, why can't feminists find a single case to serve as propaganda? Mattress girl? Rolling Stone Frat rape party? It's all fake.

There was a recent propaganda piece that suggested "MRA's" think "most" rape accusations are false. That's not true. Most MRA's think most rape accusations are true. I disagree with most MRA's. I think rape is extremely rare in the West. I think women have a bad tendency of reclassifying drunken hookups as "rape." I think we live in a false accusation culture, not a rape culture.
