While I think it's a cute exercise, it is ultimately detrimental to the movement at large. The MRM is not an anti-women movement, regardless of what its detractors claim, and we are not responsible for addressing their vacuous claims beyond a simple, "no". If we allow them to control the direction of discussion by hopelessly trying to prove we aren't as bad as they say, we have already lost.

It would take a lot for us to turn into SRS (a change in mod policy for a start), but I think the exercise is a valid one. If only to reassure people that indeed all women are not like that.

My choice: Marie Curie. Pioneering researcher of radioactivity. Basically wrote the book on the subject. She spent her last years writing about the harmful effects of radioactivity on the human body while she herself was dying of radiation poisoning so that others would not share her fate. Her work has helped save many lives.

I would like to mention my feminist ex girlfriend who opened my eyes to a lot of issues both genders face, and how I was being fucked over by society by playing into a lot of white knighting shit and male stereotypes that just screwed me.

It is from her that I understand that there are actually some feminists that don't feel like they have something to gain by undermining other peoples rights. She just wanted fair treatment, she wanted a chance to succeed and be judged, for better or worse, by who she is and not what gender she is. She wanted me to want that for myself, and for everyone.

I still miss her, and I'm sad that our lives went separate directions to separate parts of the country.

Mens rights is about the relationship between men and government.

Men's rights:

1) Equal protection under the law for all.

2) Equal protection of government for all.

Personally, and I don't know if it's this sub necessarily that does it, but when a link to a Reddit thread with the intention of showing some awful opinion comes up, it ends up getting downvoted to shit. If that's this sub, I suggest that the posts against what we stand for here be left alone to be immediately readable, and just upvoting the good posts to keep them above the threshold too. That way both sides can be seen and exposed.

I'm actually married, I think I've mentioned that before. I'm not worried about her screwing me over, because she really is a woman who isn't "like that." Somewhere around here a Rapex thread is floating around. I asked her what she thought, and she said "I can see that being good in places where it's a problem, but in this country (America) too many women are crazy and would abuse it." She's always saying things like this. I respect the hell out of her for realizing what most women I've known don't.

one thing I prefer about women in general is that if I say something that upsets them they are more likely to just walk away whereas guys are more likely to turn the situation into a needless fight
