The little things in real life ...

If someone says things like "women like flowers", he is branded as sexist that pepetuates harmful gender roles.... At the same time the very same persons who criticizes that feel completely entitled to say "men are bad" and many other generalizing insulting things about men.

One eye opener was an article about a trial (completely unrelated with gender issues). I liked the author from other reportings, we were basically on the same page. She reported about the closing argument with 'it is boring to listen men talking'.

In the first moment I agreed with that because I had lengthy lawyer statments in mind, which can be really boring. But then I realzied that she didn't connected the 'boring' with lawyers, not with lengthy closing arguments, not with the topic, not with the particular persons...

she just said 'listening to men is boring'.

My ex-wife, on day one of our separation, tried to bribe me to walk away from my son. She offered to waive all child support if I just left. It was such a surreal offer, and she was so maniacally furious when I didn't take it, that it started me down a path that I've been on ever since. From that day forward, she interfered in just about every way you can interfere in my ability to have a functional relationship with my son.

When my brother introduced this subreddit to me and there were so many stuff here that made me realize how hard men have it.
