That's exactly what it is. In other countries I've lived in, banter was absolutely fine and I didn't have to worry about offending anyone. Stateside, people actively look for reasons to write you off, unless you're attractive or a woman.

When did things become so bad for men in the US?

Hard to point at a certain time, it's more of a frog boiling thing. Turn up the heat and let it slowly rise and it's not that noticible. The "department of education" was prettymuch taken over by crazy left wingers, so they get to mold the young minds. That was one of the biggest issues.

To justify their existence for one. If they can't convince women they are oppressed by a boogyman shadow organization run by men, their cult falls apart, speaking for feminism in specific.

The same as it is to live anywhere, that's life, that's how it is. I am in the construction business, so I don't got it nearly as bad as men stuck behind a desk, with a feminist cunt HR to worry about. Only thing I have to worry about is asshole home owners, and I can easily just tell them to go fuck themelf and not work for them. A perk of being your own boss.

I would say that it is simply the generation that grew up with female power and denigration of men.

We learned from the Simpson, from Malcolm, from goofy, from male model that were either rebel or loosers.

But it may even be the fallout of the egoistical mentality as a lot of women women today consider they are entitled anything and have no responsabilities to reciprocate.

They did not grow up with sane role model either, but with spice girls, britney spears and other figures encouraging to profit from attraction withouth further plans.

The UK is worse, the feminists here are definitely I would argue far worse than in the U.S At least in the U.S you have a decent chance of avoiding them.

Yes, at least in the parts of the country where these types of people are common. I think this largely explains the election of Donald Trump. Despite his flaws (which are many), a lot of people saw him as the candidate who would destroy this whole walking on eggshells thing by refusing to go along with it.

If you want to know what it is like... Yes, it can be unbelievably frustrating, but again, it can be avoided by moving away from the parts of the country where this is happening. But the problem is that the parts of the country where this is happening are usually the parts of the country where you make the most money. So it can be a tough choice for a lot of people.

The causes (and the causes of the causes) of modern American dysculture go back to before Columbus. But to make a long story short, it started in the late 1870s-early 1900s. This was the so-called "Gilded Age" of American history. Amid high economic growth, corruption became commonplace and the two-party system became ingrained in American politics. This was also the beginning of first-wave feminism.

The two-party system is significant because it provided economic and political motivation for absolutism; "you're with us or against us". Every issue becomes black-and-white, and one party takes one side while the other party takes the other side. Abortion? Church? Welfare? Black people? Thanks to the two-party system, for any issue, now there's a bunch of millionaires on one side with a financial interest in making you hate it, and a bunch of millionaires on the other side trying to make you love it. And of course, part of this is making you hate the other side too. And as a bonus, hating other people over dumb bullshit keeps you occupied so you don't hate the millionaires anymore.

This is when general divisiveness became part of American culture. And feminism, of course, became one of those divisive issues. Now millionaires on the Republican side are pushing feminism (the Republicans used to be liberal and the Democrats used to be conservative) while millionaires on the Democrat side are pushing against it.

Unfortunately, feminism is much more contagious than the typical "divisive" issues that the politicians played around with. While pushing feminism, the feminists started claiming feminism means "gender equality". Now it's suddenly not so easy to argue against, is it?

And from this original discovery, feminists have continuously changed words (or made up new ones) to push their issue as far as possible, making attacks sound like self-defense, making normal speech sound like hate speech, and making discrimination sound like equality.

Fun fact: Male circumcision also first became popular during the end of the Gilded Age, as a means of making sex and masturbation more uncomfortable.

Not just a USA phenomenon, it is same everywhere.
