You have just summed up in a single sentence what I spent an hour trying to explain to someone a few days ago while talking about misogyny as a hate crime.

Not sure where you live , but it is in the West.
Definition: dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men (i.e. the male sex).
That perfectly describes how an awful lot of people feel about men in the west.

These days there are reasons to hate on everyone. But I think this case is not a case of hate, because there is a difference between hating someone and holding them accountable. Maybe I know the difference while others don't, and I can't deny that happens sometimes. But still, I don't think it's the norm. If you feel like people hate men it's because they made a bad name for themselves. So I say, don't hate back on women. Be angry towards those man who we should abolish, that are making men untrustworthy, because right now and since ever, men as a marginalized group have been giving us too many reasons to hate them. Again, I get why you might feel like you're being hated when people don't trust you, or assume the worst. It sucks. But understand that is a defense mechanism. We can fight together to clear the male species name, but only if we can get any sexist and misogynist man to face the consequences of their actions.

Feminists created the Tender Years Doctrine which says women are better parents than men. It took decades of legal war for men's rights activists to destroy this systemic discrimination against men.
Feminists then created Duluth Model for Domestic Violence. This doctrine says female violence against men is a trivial issue. The Duluth Model is the guidestone for the Violence Against Women Act - it is the de facto law of the land. It's also why battered men are the ones who get arrested when they call the cops for help.
How is that a case of holding men accountable? It's misandry, pure and simple, and feminists have been responsible for it.

The perfect nurturing and loving mother and absent uncaring and even abusing father is a stereotype created by the patriarchy. I know very well that not all women can be good mothers. I'm not saying that's okay, because it's wrong, but I think the custody system is trying to do right by being overprotective and play it safe. Favoring the mothers over the fathers in law is a bias that can be only fixed if we fix the reality abusive men, and there are a lot if them out there. I'm sorry you feel discriminated, and a real feminist fights for the equality and well being of everyone. It's a real issue and I acknowledge that. I have a 500 pages book that discusses solely on men's problems in the new age of 2000, and I have also filmed a documentary on how we teach our boys to bottle up their feelings to "be a man". That's feminism. And as time goes, and the feminist movement will navigate in our lives, we will get back on the right path. That's what happens when there's a change in the world, it tries to see where the limits are. This is one of them. Just want you to understand that fighting for men's rights is not anti feminism, it's an outcome of it. I'm not going to fight you who has it worse, because I'm so tired of it by now. Everyone is in pain, the patriarchy affects all of us and benefits just 0.0001% of people.

Not true. Feminists like Caroline Norton pushed this stereotype under the Tender Years Doctrine.
And they blame it all on the Patriarchy. It is impossible for a feminist mind to contemplate the possibility that discrimination against men exists outside of a Patriarchy scenario and that is where they go totally wrong.
Sure we will, uh huh.
There you go again, blaming everything on Patriarchy. It really, really hurts you deep down to ever consider that misandry is part of the female zeitgeist and it doesn't need any evil men or Patriarchy to express itself.
[–]ummidksomething 0 points1 point2 points (7 children) | Copy Link
Then...what is it to blame for? Feminists? Feminism? Matriarchy (which doesn't exist)? Where do you think misadry comes from? Please, elaborate, interact, talk. I'm not saying misandry doesn't exist. I'm just saying, it's not the norm, that's what I said all along. Misogyny is much more prominent and that's a fact. But it's makes a lot of sense that when you hate, hate is what you get in return. So maybe misandry is a reaction to misogony, can very well be. Am I saying that toxic femininity doesn't exist? Of course not. Maybe this Caroline Norton you mention is also affected by it. Maybe she and others like her wants to go 180 to counteract the patriarchy with a matriarchy, as much as toxic, and that's where you feel misandry is coming from. But still, the route problem is a...patriarchy. The main problem here. It really doesn't hurt me to discuss these issues with a man who disagress with me, but it is annoying to talk to someone who bashes me for everything I say without a well crafted thought and constructive argument. You're not actually discussing with me, you just cut everything I say without explanation. I'm not sensing any respect and patience I gave. Frankly it's disappointing. I'm ready to listen. Do you have something to say?
[–]LeJacquelope[S] 0 points1 point2 points (6 children) | Copy Link
I showed you where feminists preach hatred of men, even wanting to put a curfew on us. Misandry exists without misogyny. Oh and Matriarchy does exist, it's just in shithole places like the Musuo culture and other backwood places like it where men don't own property and there isn't even a word for "father."
There's so much you said here that's just flat out wrong. And your desire to blame misogyny for women hating men makes it pointless to discuss this further.
[–]ummidksomething 0 points1 point2 points (5 children) | Copy Link
Misandry and misogyny exist together because they are reactions to one another. Hate breeds hate, trauma breeds trauma. We became so culturally traumatized by men that it's so natural for this fear to turn into hate. But that's not what the feminist movement is about at all. Not all feminist hate men, and those who do are not true feminists. The term "feminism" itself was born out of need in a tyrant patrichial society, when children weren't even the woman's but the the husband's. Now the system is biased to give mothers the upper hand, but because of that the men gets unjustly discriminated for it. The world tried to overly correct iteslf abd ended up being wrong again. This may seem backwards, but that's a natural that happens when you progress. That's part of the process. I don't get why you fail to understabd basic history? Of how it all came to be the way it is? You think I'm excusing man haters, when I'm not. I'm just explaining why you are victims in the first place, and how the one's who victimize you are also victims themselves. Are you saying misogyny doesn't exist, and that it is not a factor in any of this, and that misandry is the norm? Do you think that all feminists are men haters that want to cage men because of evil matriarchy?
[–]LeJacquelope[S] 0 points1 point2 points (4 children) | Copy Link
I say misogyny and misandry both exist and whichever gender is in power their "-archy" will prevail. Debating who started it is useless. That is the primary reason I bash TRP on here as much as I bash feminism.
We need egalitarianism not feminism or men's rights.
[–]ummidksomething1 point [recovered] | Copy Link
When you refuse to learn history you deem it to repeat itself. It's important to know why we got to where we are, because we are in a middle of a process, so we can't move on efficiently if we don't know what came before. Right now we need both feminism and men's right's, that's the point we are now. Ultimately, we will get to egalitarianism, but you can't expect the world to just be. It has it's own pace, and you need to follow it if you want progress. You need to be concious and thoughtful of your actions or else your cause will into something you never meant it to be, just like happened to feminism, and now it has made some bad actions we need to fix. But whatever man, if you're not convinced by this point we have nothing to talk about, have a nice life.

How do we make any kind of progress when the narrative is dominated by two movements whose motive is "my gender, right or wrong"?
[–]ummidksomething2 points [recovered] | Copy Link
People like you and me who bring to the attention of everyone what they missed or misunderstood. The word spreads around and reaches to more people, then it becomes an actual thing when enough people acknowledge it. That's how every changes happens. That's why I said, we should learn from our history. It's not just one change, but a lot of little changes that need to happen. The world doesn't just stays still. It's always tilting from side to side, trying to find balance. And there are people trying to dominate one side and flip it, there's always gonna come something to counteract it.
[–]LeJacquelope1 point [recovered] | Copy Link
Yeah I'm all about balance. I oppose bigotry no matter where it comes from.

Except you are advocating hating on men for a very small amount of men.
Now imagine for a second if I were to say "It's ok to be racist because a small group of black people do bad things."
[–]ummidksomething 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm what??? I'm not advocating hate, I advocate for the right people to face the consequences of their actions. It's not a "very small anount of men". It's not a matter of if a woman gets assulted, it's a matter of when. 1 out of 1. Dude, two of my best friends were molested and abused by men, and everyone I know knows a women that something happened to her. Be it verbal, physical, emotional, domestical abuse, casual misogyny. It happens so much it's scary to think about it, when it's going to happen to me, to the people I love. Ever so often I hear something happened, not so long ago a 4 year old girl in my country was raped and the guy, guess what? Got as a punishment to do community service. And now because it was corona and people had to be trapped in their homes, there was a big wave of domestical abuse that even led to those women getting killed. The number of complaints tripled around that time. The government had a plan to prevent that, but when it was all ready and got to release the actual funds, they stopped. And let me not talk about the judicial system and its incompetences to bring any of those men to the punishment they deserved. 90% of crimes against women are caused by men. Now if it's 1 out of 1, you do the math...a very small amount of men? I don't think so. Yeah, not all of you, maybe not even the most. But too many is too many, just see what are outcomes. Again, I repeat myself so much I feel like a parrot. They need to face the consequences of their actions, not YOU, men who hadn't wronged a woman and now face discrimination because of your gender. You are not the enemy, we have a common enemy though, people who seek control over others. Be it a woman, a man, a white man or a black man or whatever. That's what makes a society toxic. I don't hate men, and I don't understand why you think that, after everything I said. I guess you weren't listening.
