This rant is mostly directed at self-identified feminists (a lot of them lurking around here), and people tired of the "men are this, men do that" rhetoric.

Now, Chaff is a way to blind radars by throwing a lot of shiny reflective metal bits, effectively, a radar sees so many radar contacts that it can't sort through them all, allowing the real dangerous contact to get in close, hidden by the myriad of radar contacts. It's effectively a way to hide a needle in a needle box.

Now, we have had multiple studies that find similar findings: around 2% of men openly admit to committing 90% of rapes and 70% of every other violent crimes admitted by the research subjects. That means a small handful of hyperviolent, recidivist people commit a disproportionately large share of violent crimes in general, and rape in particular.

What we SHOULD do if we want to keep people safe is helping people tune their dangerous-people-radars to these hyperviolent people, and go on from there (yes, I would rather hyperviolent recidivist people to not be around. But until I'm given a button that magically vanishes them from society, we're going to have to deal with the fact they exist).

The WORST possible option is to tune these radars to the point anything male-looking gets pinged as a "CONTACT!". That's basically blinding our "dangerous people radar" with chaff, with just too many garbage data allowing the real contacts to slip by in the see of garbage contacts.
