For context, I had already posted this in another reddit thread but it did not gain traction, I live in France and go to an English university, my class had to do a reading exercice on this misandrist text.
This university is known as a "leftist university" my class is in majority female and I cannot help but wonder what would have happened if the text was "why women fail"
followed by several dumb reasons on why women are basically inferior to men.

[–]FreeAgent06 22 points23 points24 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh god, was that like an assignment you had to read and annotate?

[–]Demonarke[S] 15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thankfully I just had to record myself reading it, I thought about speaking out but I was in a class full of women, most if not all of which were feminists, including the teacher.
Considering I just wanted to get my diploma and get the hell out of this place I didn't say anything, I thought it would be pointless anyway.

[–]SamaelET 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

I am french too. It is funny, our government do not even mention the fact that boys fail at school. Except one time in our "equality minister page" where they proudly say that girls obtain more A level diploma (Bac général).

This is the second time I see under achievements mentioned in France and it is to spill hatred on men

What level was it at ? (Licence ou Master)

What type if study are you doing ?

What university was that ? From what I know every french university is leftist. Maybe La Sorbonne ?

[–]Demonarke[S] 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

It is a licence, and it is in Montaigne, I do LLCE anglais.

And yes feminists are quick to point out that women fare better than men yet will still play victim when something doesn't go their way

Thanks.

For those who wants to know what University and what program to dodge here is the link of what op talks about : https://www.u-bordeaux-montaigne.fr/en/study/courses/foreign-and-regional-languages-literatures-and-civilisations-LL.10/undergraduate-licence-degree-XA/undergraduate-licence-english-LIA16_316.html?search-keywords=Civilization

Pauvre choux, tu vas t'en remettre ?

[–]Demonarke[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Je me suis habitué à tout ça ça me fait plus grand chose, tu trouves ça normal ?

[–]flumul 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

[–]Demonarke[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

[–]flumul 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

[–]Demonarke[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

[–]flumul 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]Demonarke[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]flumul 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Demonarke1 point 5 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–]masarogue12 34 points35 points36 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So its man fault? It has nothing to do with gynocentric society???

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When men succeed it’s because of sexism. When women succeed it’s because they’re better. Feminists totally aren’t sexist, noooo

[–]vasekgamescz 33 points34 points35 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We'll treat men worse puts on white makeup

We'll prioritize women over men puts colors on face

We'll basically simp for women and create inequality puts on afro wig

Why do men fail? đŸ€Ą

[–]PartTimeTulsa 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Something I was thinking about today was how when I was a little boy, no adult treated me like a little kid. Adults treat little boys like men. They have very little patience with them, tell them to toughen up and get over anything they bring up an issue about. A little boy tried to tell someone about a problem and they get silenced and dismissed. No one ever explained anything to me. They just expected me to know and rolled their eyes if I asked what was going on.

[–]SamaelET 15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wonder what woule have happened if :

I took every female only things and initiative for women in the country and said : Women are only successful because they are privileged and men discriminated against. When men were the vast majority in university it was not sexism but only because men were better.

[–]Drayenn 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How do you start with that intro and follow up like this? Why is the follow up not "how can we help men get back on track"? This is vile

[–]Oncefa2 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Wow this is sexist, racist, xenophobic, and intolerant to the disabled! Like who really thought this was ok??

And they say they're leftists? The entire section about immigrants either retaining their culture or "adapting" is taken straight out of the right-wing anti-immigration narrative. It's what's behind all the "learn to speak English" stuff.

For the record, more men are disabled because more men work backbreaking, dangerous jobs than women. In part because a lot of women refuse to work those jobs because they see that kind of work as being beneath them. And in part because men receive less support in society and can't "marry their way into" a subsidized lifestyle where someone else helps pay for their bills. So their options are to either work those jobs and risk being killed and mangled or become homeless and die quietly in a ditch somewhere.

Let me sign up for this class. I'll give them an essay. Trust and believe I would turn this class upside down and then report that teacher all the way up the chain of command for hate speech.

[–]Demonarke[S] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Most universities in France are on the left side, I doubt you would achieve anything, you would be accused of hate speech yourself and wouldn't be able to voice your complaints high enough for things to really matter, you would probably just manage to expel yourself I'm afraid.

And yes it is the hypocrisy of some of these people, by trying to be anti-racist they will actually be racist themselves and discriminate against immigrants without even realizing it.

[–]rSlashGigi 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

France has some serious issues. Not just France though... Its everywhere. In the netherlands they tried to setup a hotline for (mostly leftist) indoctrination in education. Allot of claims have been made starting at really young ages all the way up to university, but they shut it down. People (mostly high school kids) started filming teachers and placing things out of context to create sensation. It became unsafe for teachers. I think the hotline was a good idea, we just need to work it out better.

[–]Darthios_121 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Men from France run for your lives run!!!!

[–]Demonarke[S] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm afraid there is nowhere to run

[–]BigDudBoy 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When females face a problem, it's society's fault. When males face a problem, it's their fault.

[–]hardturkeycider 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She's not wrong on the last bit: that's what used to give men their strength and utility in society. But i don't feel like this is the end for that sort of mindset. Society will always need a bit of rigidity to give it structure, and fluidity can't do that alone.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men: dominate society and achievements for literally the entirety of human existence.
Women: women haven’t done as much because society is oppressing us. Men and women are equal.
women close the achievement gap a noticeable amount
“Women are better than men! We don’t need men!” Jesus Christ. Yeah, okay.

[–]maritalades 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Tippy-top" 😄

[–]BigDudBoy 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They couldn't use apex or it would make people think of apex fallacy, something feminists like to ignore.

[–]SnooCheesecakes7314 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

i don’t understand why this is bad?

[–]Demonarke[S] 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Have you read the entire text ? It basically says women are better than men "thanks to their lower skills" "Men dominate because women take care of children, but they rule everywhere else" "Women adapt more quickly than men, men are stuck in the old ways" This text doesn't try to show the problems of men, It's clearly just there to promote women "see how women are better than men ?" I'm sorry but the text is very condescending, it doesn't explain any issues, it just states stuff about men's situation, and then say "women are better because they are more fluid, men are more rigid" So basically if men fail it's because they don't adapt. Also there is literally a book stated which is called "The End of Men" as in men aren't needed anymore.

EDIT :

The book is called, the end of men, the rise of women

and the full text I found online :

https://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/11/opinion/brooks-why-men-fail.html

[–]cattypat 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Texts like this is literally evil. Imagine the same being written about women, they would probably be put in prison in country without freedom of speech. Which unfortunately is most of Europe these days.

[–]DoubleDollars69 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I have this discussion with friends, and one of the common quips we use is what utopia might the world have become had France never existed, it's sort of like an overused meme in our conversation usually meant to like fun

But sometimes I wonder

[–]Demonarke[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Don't want to start a country war but this shit started with the US, we France started to go bad when Napoleon fell, then feminism propaganda started to fester in the US and since France now is taking exemple on the US we followed their exemple, most of what happens in the US has a repercussion on France now.

[–]DoubleDollars69 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

True

[–]Demonarke[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Wow that was easy lmao

[–]DoubleDollars69 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't disagree, US certainly played it's part, look at where we are now. Like I said that meme is just to poke fun.
