Growing up, I was told that men live shorter because "we have a more dangerous lifestyle".

“You see, son, men on average live shorter because men used to smoke way more than women. They also drank more alcohol, and have a very risky behavior. Men like to race cars, men like to go skydiving.”

When I was a kid, I thought, well, if I have a risk-free behavior, "like a woman", I should live as long as one. Right?

Of course, I quickly learned that women have naturally longer lifespans due to genetic differences. Telomerases don't behave the same, and men got the short straw. I can't fight against it, no need to be angry.

However, now that I'm a grown up, I realize that the truth is way harsher. Men do behave in a way more risky fashion than women. Don't we, guys?

Men go to war.

Men do manual labor.

Men build cathedrals and hospitals.

Men kill themselves.

Men sacrifice themselves because it's women and children first.

There's a biological factor, yes. But the life expectancy difference between men and women is very heavily accentuated by society.

I know this post is kinda worthless, but I wanted everyone to know this. In my opinion, this alone justifies men's rights as a whole.
