The Atlantic perfectly captures the takedown of TRP, how words were used to literally invert the essence of TRP.

It is understood around here that TRP was destroyed, right?

If it would have collapsed under its own weight, it would have been allowed to do so. Collapse was far from immanent, so destruction commenced. But it doesn't much matter. Any man who gets his bodyfat low and muscle mass high will rediscover timeless truths which were unknown to the 90% of terpers who were just keyboard warriors and never touched a barbell.

I am writing this obituary now because I read it in The Atlantic. From the bottom line of the piece,

-pilled was ironically co-opted from the alt-right to connote a sort of forced subscription to an ideology. To be X-pilled meant to learn new information that made you an enthusiastic lover of X. The serious sense of “waking up to the truth” that alt-righters used redpilling to mean was weathered down with irony until it revealed what may be the true meaning of the term: to become a superfan of something, political or otherwise. Hence the Wednesday clue: “Suffix denoting indoctrination.”
