I'm a guy usually oozing a mixture of rp and doomer nonsense here but a friend of mine has made me realize just how much trust a woman has to have to "devote" herself to her man, and how badly it can backfire

Some backstory, this lady lives in the same complex as me, ~40, which is to say upon first impressions I thought she was an addict or hooker or something, everyone here is stuck here.

Anyways, one night I was out of cigs and I saw her door was open so i knocked on her screen to bum a cig. She gave me her whole ass vape for the night, which was awesome. Needless to say I try to help her out and she tries to help me out, and we hangout every couple nights.

Aaaanyways, I've come to learn more about her life and what was honestly a "recent" fall from grace.

Before I knew her and I saw her, drinking all day, fat, out of shape, she was living hundreds of miles away in a different state, with her own house, car paid off, quit all her addictions except drinking, was just getting back into her personal dream job as a competition dance teacher, her son was doing great in school and overcoming an injury. She had EVERYTHING, except her and the father's child were separated, "he is a good dad, but an awful husband" her words.

She met a man on a dating site 5 years ago and he seemed to hit every mark she could ask for, hard worker, inspired her to quit drinking for a number of years, kept her fed, warm, helped her with her car and ultimately convinced her to sell and move in with him.

Holy shit, what a mistake.

First of all I looked at the videos of her practicing and that was a banging 40 year old, trained everyday in the mirror, had her own dance room with beautiful decorations and mirrors covering the walls.

But he didn't like that she danced for hours to the same song practicing routines, it was annoying to him and he asked her to stop, and she complied because "his house".

This happened for all of her hobbies, many of which they shared when they matched and met. She loved camping, he said he did, but would be too busy every weekend. Same for going to the beach, concerts, he denied her showing up at some of her students dance competitions.

But alas, my man was a sex addict, and spent big 💰 ney on a different girl every night, he only lied to keep her as "house pussy".

She gave up her body, her home her way of life because this man swore up and down on every family member he could he was trying to do the right thing.

Even worse she was a forever girlfriend, so she has no legal recourse to solve it, and she now lives alone drinking wine and working at McDonalds.

I don't really know what the point of this post was but I think I have a much deeper understanding of just how much "moving in" can change your life, especially as a woman, and the double standards that many guys impose, essentially making her hobbies practically illegal and his "the most important thing".

If your girl is being cautious about moving in or going further with a relationship, is because after she moves in and cuts ties to having her own things, you have to be guaranteed a good choice. Even when you think you made the right choice it can still go wrong, life has many variables, and I can see women not wanting to give up financial freedom in exchange for "love"
