Mod bias?

I'm really not sure why it was deleted. I did restore the comment at the risk of possibly stepping on another mods toes but only because I couldn't see anything wrong at all with the comment.

You gotta understand that yesterday we had over 300 comments reported in the span of about an hour or two. I'm 99% sure your comment got removed on accident. I assume the mod that deleted your comment was probably doing what I was and going down the line approving comments by clicking madly and probably accidentally hit remove on your comment instead of approve. So far it's the only one we've had any complaints about.

This one comment aside, which yes should never have been deleted, I really don't think the mods are horribly biased.

I'm willing to chalk it up to an honest mistake. There are members on both sides of the debate who have said the mods are biased against their "team." Honestly, that probably means they're doing an ok job.

We try to make sure that we're transparent about our moderation here, so while I understand why you would want to make a post like this, next time why don't you just send a message first and ask for clarification. This time it will more than likely turn out to be an error on our part because of the confusion resulting from a user that apparently became unhinged.

The constant accusations of bias are kinda ridiculous, especially over something so small. I don't know how many people here have ever modded a message board, but this one in particular takes a lot more time than it should for a subreddit with ~500 subscribers. It'd be nice to just get a heads up next time in a private message or something.

Wow, that's pretty bad.

I'd say in general people around here have too thin skin. It ruins conversations to have so many [deleted]. Mods should just message the person and tell him to modify/delete the offending statement. Too many comments are deleted because of a single sentence in a 200 word reply.

Is it possible the comment was deleted by an automated bot? I have had comments initially removed, but then re-posted because of this mistake.

It may or may not have been a mistake, I think the Mods have a lot of comments and information to sift through and they do the best they can. It's not easy trying to oversee and moderate threads, especially if they become really active and get a lot of traffic.

I think the best thing to do would be to message one of the moderators and ask why specifically your comment was removed.
