In the UK, the law defines rape such that a female cannot rape a male. So the paper legally cannot say rape. I do agree that the language choice sucks, though.

ok this is something that sends me into a blind rage. This isn't some fucking child's playground game. WELL I GUESS IT TECHNICALLY IS but you get what I'm trying to say. Calling it 'secret sex' is such an understatement. It infers that it was just some young couple doing it in a closet trying to hid it from their parents or something. NOT AT ALL. I agree that women getting lesser charges for rape is a pussy pass but the headline thing isn’t really, as the exact same situation happens when a man rapes a girl. It’s very often “young woman” and “sex” instead of “child” and “rape” in headlines. Definitely a problem in both cases though, rape is rape no matter the gender
