Uhm.. Women have always died in childbirth. Always. The mortality rate for natural births is super high compared to other mammals. It's a fact. People that died didn't live on to share how they survived childbirth.

Only recently have we started dying and getting permanent damages less frequently because of modern medicine and access to it. Dying at birth is just not as common today due to this, and people have started to just assume that every pregnancy and birth is going to go just fine. Which they do usually, due to medicine.

No we haven't changed since olden days, and that's not the point at all. Our bodies still work the same. We still birth the same. It's medicine that has changed. This is why it's still super dangerous to birth naturally compared to in a hospital. Remove modern medicine and we're literally back to stone age risks.

You are falling into a hole of logic. People weren't healthier back in the day. They weren't less allergic or celiac or diabetic. They just didn't survive. Babies died all the time. Mothers died all the time.

Not all women have constantly died. That is your exaggeration of what I am trying to say. But significantly more did back in the day. And significantly more babies died too. And in countries without access to modern medicine, women and babies are still dying and getting permanent injuries at a higher rate. To add to that, post childbirth injuries, deep tears and damages isn't something that women brag about openly.

Just like you had a greater risk of dying from things that are easily treatable today, cuts, pneumonia, TBC, cholera, you were at a higher risk of dying from birth.

How is that unreasonable to you? Due to the dilemma of bigger brain and narrower hips, humans have a way more traumatic birth than other mammals.

Also. It's not the act of pushing and pain that's the wonderful experience of childbirth. It's getting a child. Your view of the medical aspect of it is romanticized when it shouldn't be.

I know for a fact that I would be dead if I hadn't had medical help.

It's all there, in a lot of different numbers.

Globally, around 1 in 100 women die in childbirth. I doubt that 1 in 100 women die because they were ignorant and didn't know what they were doing. Animals don't know what they're doing either, and animals very rarely get complications from their births. Just a simple thing like this: How often do humans need stitches for tearing? Almost every woman expects to tear. How often do our domesticated animals give birth without complications at home? Dogs? Cats? Horses? Pigs? They don't usually need stitches, because their bodies and babies are different from humans.

I'm not here for a shouting match. I see your point about the proof, and there is no ultimate proof or data to be collected about what happened 3000 years ago. All we can do is consider that childbirth follows all the other trends of health, disease and injury. That trend clearly says, and it's literally general knowledge, that humans die at a much higher rate without modern medical intervention, no matter the circumstance.

Is your point that women are too useless nowadays that they "don't even know how to birth without dying"? There's no proof of that either. You seem to have grown ignorant towards how fragile the human body is because you live somewhere where childbirth is "a piece of cake". Don't take medicine for granted.

I can guarantee that childbirth is not a piece of cake. My baby turned head up with his foot stuck down the birth canal. He got way too big after being 2 weeks overdue to birth naturally bum first, and if they hadn't checked his size medically first, I would have no choice but to try and push him out until I literally broke and bled to death with the baby still stuck inside of me. I am grateful for medicine and know that's why I survived.

if my wife gave birth there, indeed, she'd have a much higher chance of dying than if she gave birth at home in a bathtub or even in a random clean river (apparently that's a thing again. white people, amirite)

another random thing for you to note: remember all the teenage pregnancies? guess where many of them give birth in order to not get caught: bathrooms. do those women die? nope, they are alive and well and in some cases just proceed to throw the baby in a dumpster

first off your stupid ass claims on maternal mortality rates are immediately disproven, but also there's another world map on it and guess what. from my first source, where half of africa is shown to be dirty as fuck, remember that? yeah it's virtually the same very countries that have high maternal mortality rates

and to come back to my main point: women didnt constantly die from something as trivial as giving birth. it got pretty bad for a while and then it suddenly skyrocketed to like what, 40%?!?? yeah that's all the dirty ass docs who dont wash their hands between operations, births and digging through dead people. then washing your hands was invented and boom women dont really die anymore and if they do, it usually wouldve been preventable anyway but they didnt choose to do certain things like prenatal care.

long story short: if you or your wife suddenly give birth on a safari, dont go to the hospital. try to give birth wherever doesnt seem too dirty, maybe even a random bush. wash your hands. everybody wash your goddamn dirty ass hands. deliver, clean everything the fuck up and wash your hands again because most people are retarded and cant keep them clean for a minute. look at the new life you brought into this world in awe and then congratulate the mother. no need to call the morgue.
