Can almost guarantee you those are skewed results. Kids lying on accounts to bypass age restrictions, content locks needing a registered account to be “over 18” for legal reasons. Plus children not caring to take part in survey/not being allowed to. Seems like a purposefully skewed survey imo. For example, Fortnite has reported demographics that all of its players are over 18. Do you buy that?

Birth rate is declining while most of my late 20s/early 30s friends are still into gaming. I don't think it's that far from the truth. Even if the under 18 absorbed an extra 10% from the next tier due to kids lying about their age, it still shows how many players are now adults.

Absolutely. Outside of going to the library or watching broadcast (not cable, not streaming) TV, video game cost per entertainment hour is super hard to beat. Most of the games I own are under $0.05/hr.

You can also “exist” in a video game without getting yelled at for being in there for too long, like you can at a library, or a coffee shop, or a park.
You want to sit in the game and watch a butterfly flap around? Hell yeah you watch it go! Want to read a book? There is games with them inside, go nuts! Want to look up something strange or interesting? Some games got built in wikis, learn about the wolrd around you as you play! Add a VR if you can afford it that lets you just hang out in cool places for no reason at all and you have yourself a magical little package of amazing moments.

We got heavy loitering ordinances around here… which is kinda dumb since everything feels like pay to enter now. Also I live around alot of church people and many of them don’t like kids enjoying the outdoors… which is nuts to me.
As a Christian myself, it's beyond frustrating how many of my so called fellow Christians ignore the basic tenets of the faith, which loosely translated come down to "don't be a giant jerk." :/

I especially love creative games. Minecraft and Valheim got me and I will always come back to them. Can't build cities in real life so games are perfect for this. Similar with games like Arma. It's just too much fun playing Arma Wasteland with your squad. I would have to go to a warzone to get those experiences.
There is only one thing that can beat gaming in my opinion: Psychedelics! Combined with gaming in VR ... Try to beat that!
I can’t handle VR headsets cause of the way you look into them (seeing into a screen that is ever so slightly out of focus feels like a virtigo simulator)... but if I did I would totally be up for trying that, sounds so trippy!

Nah It's just fun, escapism is when I used to drink but I don't do that anymore. Video games is just fun and creativity activity to me and I only play games that stimulate my brain somehow and make me solve mental puzzles (the whole use it or lose it principle), most women who play video games don't like challenging videogames (with a few exceptions) only flashy attention grabbing facebook type ones, which proves again, at least for some of them, what their true behavior and unconscious really is. Trying to hide flaws, trying to seek attention, churning resources from men, and using up men like napkins due to the large supply available in modern times, a lot of women are like this, with a some exceptions of course.
