Maybe try pairing a BB cream with a mineral powder? You could stick with the BB cream you currently like, then set it with a tinted powder for a fuller coverage. You could also try just adding a bit of shimmer/highlighting powder to your BB cream. It would help reflect light and give the illusion of fuller coverage and a nice glow.

I don't have an answer but like a total jerk, may I ask what BB cream you use? I'm in the market for exceptionally subtle makeup. I currently wear none when I can get away with it but I really want to use just enough to even out my skin tone and brighten up a little bit.

I use Pur Minerals and I love their pressed mineral powder. They do have a liquid mineral version but I've only ever bought the powder version. Another organic company I have is Pure Anada, which I own in the liquid version.

I wasn't sure if you're asking for a light as in pale foundation, or light as in light feeling on the skin, luckily both I listed above covers both options. They come in very light colours, and also feel very light on the skin and non-greasy.

I go against the accepted wisdom on this subject and I personally think that for some skins less is more. I'm about your age and I have terrible skin. For ages I tried covering it up with maximum coverage foundations but in my case it just makes it look worse as product tends to gather in pock marks and fine lines.

Now I wear a tinted moisturiser and it looks much better, like a better version of myself.

So I wouldn't write off CC creams or tinted moisturisers just yet.
