This is her story, told her this is the place to go to handle this the most feminine way without damaging a relationship. Thank you Ladies! <3

My fiancé (26M) and I (25F) are in a really good place. EXCEPT for the way he spends his money.(Grew up with out alot of financial advice from family). We are getting married this year in December (Super Excited for!) and need to start saving up for our wedding. But his dad is hurting for money and is trying to sell certain items that he thinks they have sentimental value to my SO and that he should buy them, in his mind to help out his family (very expensive item includes a motorcycle, which we are storing) but we can't afford to. Along with him wanting to fix up his old truck for the wedding and an older car he keeps putting money into on top of saving for the day.

I know it's a touchy subject and a trigger, he shuts down and doesn't want to talk about it when money/finances gets brought up. How do I talk to him about it without upsetting him? I think he feels guilted into having to help out his dad because he needs the money but i dont feel that's our place nor our problem. His dad has a good paying job and just bought a lot of unnecessary expensive items.
