Hello. I am in urgent need of some advice for a good friend of mine. She has been the alpha in her marriage and family for many years, and has suggested that she would like her husband to finally take the lead. The issue is that any time he tries to take the lead, it fails, due to my friend disagreeing with the direction he wants to take them. They are at a critical point in their marriage right now, as he will either need to move them out of state; to keep his current job, or he will need to spend time learning a new skill; to keep his current pay grade. My friend refuses to move, but knows that this is going to slowly destroy her marriage. She has been subtly reaching out for advice, and I just don't know how to word things. I want to let her know that she can trust her husband to do the right thing, but that she has to surrender her current role and family dynamic. This is scary for her. What would suggest I tell her, so that she will do the right thing for her family? Thank you in advance for input!
