Are we screwed?

I have a love/hate relationship with technology. So many benefits but so many downsides as well. Hopefully as things like smartphones become a more normal part of society instead of this new shiny toy usage will go down, but I don't know :/

For now, I think the best thing we can do is to set strict rules like no phones during dates or meals, limit social networking (do you really need 700 FB friends?), and focus on having personal interaction instead of electronic.

Can someone explain to me how it is that Facebook causes breakups? I can imagine it being used as an excuse (though I really can't imagine what the justification is for those excuses), but I can't imagine it actually causing a breakup.

As for the rest of the article, I felt it wasn't really enlightening. Maybe it's because I'm already a RPW, and part of that entails taking control of my life, rather than letting it take control of me.

Technology connects people only it doesn't connect people. It disconnects people. People used to be nice. I can remember the 80s and 90s. People were nicer and happier then.
