Hi all! Currently I am in graduate school and have a rigorous schedule and long commute times. I’m doing this in order to have a career at the end of this that allows me to create my own schedule and be home a lot to raise my kids then have a license and career for when they are out of the house, but I have two more years of school to get through first. In the mean time, I simply cannot keep up with household chores. My partner has different expectations for cleanliness than me, so he will keep it clean-ish but the bathrooms and kitchen floors are never clean. He will help if I ask him several times, but the asking has become nagging and I hate it. I feel as if I am working more hours than my partner yet still have to do almost all the housework. I’m happy to do the housework once I’m done and working 20hrs a week, but until then what should I do? I discussed if he would pay for a house cleaner, and he agreed but cooking and other tasks are even stressful now.
