i saw my lady friend post about being raped in college on facebook. i can't tell if she is virtue signalling or if she really experienced a brutal rape (there were no details in her post).

what is the right way to talk about rape if she ever brought it up? do i just listen? do i ask questions? i'm afraid of feeding her victim complex, if she has one - but i also don't want to be completely inhuman about the whole thing.
