I've been on some dating sites and matched with some very good ladies in UK, who are mostly 29-31.

However, people just don't have the inclination to respond or even stay around for a chat. I'd like to present two cases of my matches:

For context, I am a doctor, 33 years old, 6,2, South Asian ethnicity, of decent looks and good athletic ability. I've never even had a physical relationship before. I can carry a conversation of humor, on serious or funny cultural topics. I also know to let the lady carry the conversation first and show a genuine interest in her life and experiences.

  1. I matched with another doctor who is 29 during our first voice chat and at the end, told her I would liked her and would like to continue our conversation down the line. We're both busy professionals. I get it. But there's 0 response (which is a response)

(I realize it's idiotic to seem too eager, as per every dating guideline written for the modern world)

  1. A family connection matched me with a lady from a matrimonial site. I was about 3-5 years older than her. Same professional field. We chatted twice where it seemed like we had very similar priorities in life. Kids, career, etc. But I also asked her if she had a timeline in mind for when she would like to see herself settled. I told her that I would like to atleast be engaged in 4-5 months, if all things went well.

She sent me a text saying, "You're amazing but we're not compatible" the next day.

Now, coming from a bit of a conservative background, women traditionally sought a husband or atleast a commitment in the form of an engagement, by 30.

I matched with Eastern European ladies who have a way more traditional mindset. They believe in strong family traditions and establishing clear definitions of being in relationship/marriage path.

What I would like to understand is:

  1. Do professional women, especially near 30 or above, still feel the urgency of being in a relationship as before?

  2. Are women in UK typically more liberal and more averse to expressions of interest? (I'd appreciate any opinion especially if you're from UK and/or Indian)

  3. Am I being a simp?

  4. What does it mean when someone says, "You are amazing but we are not compatible"? Is it a cop out of some kind or some kinda ridiculous go-to thing for when someone comes on too strong.

  5. What went wrong in these situations and examples?
