I’m a 22 year old woman and I haven’t officially joined rpw (only because some of the things here and mostly on trp are rather extreme) but I do read some of the posts here occasionally because I feel like some of these topics apply to everyone not just rp folk.

In terms of dating, why are tattoos on a woman really such a problem for most men? I am a womanist (not a hard core man hating one - I don’t even consider those types actual feminist I think they miss the entire point of womanism/feminism to be completely honest) but it has nothing to do with that. I just genuinely love tattoos and plan to get quite a few. I honestly feel like they add to my beauty like I’ve been painted with beautiful art.

However, I hear so many men - even heavily tattooed men say they are unattractive on women. Before I started getting them I had the very socially acceptable non tattooed look. It was fine it just didn’t feel like me. I’m also a black woman, and since most black men don’t really care for their own women to begin with and other races find us “intimidating” and/or “masculine” that makes my already small dating pool even smaller.

I don’t see them as inherently masculine at all. They’re just tattoos. I understand not liking crappy ones on anyone. I just don’t understand the hate for them on women.
