- In friend group, but barely. I only ever see her as part of a group, and don't see her very often. She was very flirty the first party we met at, so I know she's attracted to me, I just wasn't confident enough to close yet.
Last weekend a few friends wanted to go out to a bar/club with girl 1 and me and other people in the group. I texted back saying I'd pick her up. When she's off work she says she doesn't need a ride cause (insert male name here) is picking her up. I ignore her. She texts asking if I can pick up one of my acquaintances whom is her friend Mike, I ignore her. Mike texts me, I ignore him and stay in that night vaping while playing Halo. Good night for me.
Days later I run into her at her place of work, a grocery store. (I'm an Engineer, she's a few years younger and is in college while working part time). She asks "hey, why didn't you come out Friday?" I respond "I told you I didn't want to". (I had told her I didn't want to go out that night, changed my mind when other people texted me who I genuinely like hanging out with, but the moment she said another guy was picking her up I wasn't putting pants on).
Haven't talked to her since.
- Two: Met this very sexy blonde girl at Comic Con. I'm a nerd, but I'm a 6'4" athletic nerd. She was sitting alone (if this wasn't comic con she'd be surrounded) watching the costume contest cause her friend was in it. I sat next to her and started conversation. It went well, we flowed naturally and she could actually carry her part of the conversation. (OMG! That is very rare.) A few things came up that in retrospect I maybe should have jumped on, but they also could have scarred her off. Like she said she was staying at a hotel, I could have asked which one and gone from there but I guess indulged beta tendencies and erred on the side of caution. Anyway, not much time passed with us talking (10minutes or less, I can't be sure, was high) and she said "ok, I actually do have to go now", her friend had texted her. I have no idea why she said "have to go now", she hadn't ever tried to leave before. Anyway, I ignored that and continued saying what I was saying, she responded and the conversation carried on for another minute or so. Then I said "let me get your number" and she put it in my phone. She was happy I pronounced her name correctly and it turns out we're both from southern US states. Hurray common ground. (For the sake of argument, let's say I'm right that she's at least a little into me. If I'm completely wrong it doesn't matter what I do anyway; so no need to talk about it.)
Ok, I'm good at that part. I have gotten more numbers than girls I remember meeting (I know numbers are nothing), it's pushing it past this stage where I have almost no experience and the experience I do have was really driven by women.
I texted her the next day, just asking if she was free because I was taking a sail boat out onto Lake Michigan and would like to have her join. I included my name in the text since it was the first time I contacted her. Normally I'd bow to people who know better and wait so I don't seem needy or desperate, but I feel like because it was a special thing (I don't always take sail boats on lakes) it shouldn't seem needy.
I intend to call her Wednesday (8-27-14) and invite her to a simple dinner Friday night.
I've not seen this type post on here before, but you guys have taught me so much already I'm excited at the prospect of learning more things that actually work, and are true. If a random reader happens to learn something as well, so much the better.
