I was meaning to post that TED talk.

It should be held up as more evidence that feminism is fucking people up by telling them they can "have it all", especially telling women that they can wait till their 30's to settle down.

It gives them stupid and un realistic expectations.

That being said, it is fucking hilarious to see women hit their 30's and get bitch slapped by the cold, hard reality that it was all a lie, and their best years are behind them.

It's why I only fuck women in their 20's. Close to 30 they get, the crazier they are.

One of my former bosses told me "if a woman is still single at 35 there is usually a real good reason."

As I get older the more I see truth in that.

[–]Clauderoughly9 points10 points11 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was voicing that opinion when I was in my late 20s. I tried dating women my own age, but when they all turned out to be crazier than a box of bees, I started dating much younger.

I was vilified by many people for that choice, but now I see why.

It's women in their 30's trying to shame you into picking up scraps.

there is an asterisk, if you're successful enough to reach escape velocity in your 20s, you can hire personal trainers and get plastic surgery you can slay gash for at least the next 20 years. tom cruise is 50 and the man looks like he's 35.

[–]socal838 points9 points10 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

no need for plastic surgery for men. just stay in shape and don't overdo vices.

[–]Clauderoughly2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but Tom Cruise is an insane, closeted, cult worshiping, dwarf

He should not be held up as a good example.

George Clooney is a better example.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

no clooney looks his age, 50. he looks good for his age, but he looks his age.

his point was that tom cruise looks much younger than he actually is, which is something that is attainable. two completely different examples.

also, what do you want him to do about his height? he can change his beliefs but not that. i'm the same height and i'm glad i'm not a movie star, because half the hate i see people giving tom cruise online are jabs about his height, and considering his personal life, that's a lot of shit. i guess celebs are held to a different and more rigorous standard for attractiveness; glad i don't have to suffer that.

[–]Clauderoughly2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nothing he can do about his height, but at least he can own it.

His height is the least of his problems though.

man, today's feminism chews up young women so badly that i wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be a fucking conspiracy.

so fucking stupid. modern feminism ain't no civil rights movement. it's just a fucking scam. it's just a series of unconscionably terrible decisions foisted upon young women today.

It is for men. Unless we stop exercising, the slight physical deterioration we undergo has no chance of offsetting what we gain in confidence, status, sophistication, and poise.

We can make our mistakes in our 20s, learn from them, and do better, if we avoid the major mistakes of getting married, or having a kid.

This is excellent and a must watch for anyone in their 20s. Wish I met this woman at 26, but now is what I have to work with.

This was one of the best TED talks I've seen. It applies as much to men as it does to women.

[–]juchanaut3 points 13 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Loved this TED talk, although it was stuff I already knew. I put it on my Facebook for all of my friends to see as they're all mainly between the ages of 16-26.

People are loving it and thanking me for linking it.
