So let me get this right. You are in your 30s and have no job, no skills, no commitment, no ambition, no morals, dependent on a woman, and about to become a father who's children will look up to you. On top of that, you're trying to use TRP to justify it all.

This is not TRP and if it is then I want no part in it.

Fucked up? Perhaps but it's not my fault traditional roles are reversed. A quick look around shows that the traditional man constantly gets fucked when it comes to having a family. It'd be an uphill battle even if I wanted to buck the trend. It's not what I pictured when I was younger but that's where I find myself. I wanted to be a farmer, that just doesn't happen these days, least not where I live.

Getting a job isn't going to happen as one of us need to stay home to look after the child. She will return to work after 12 months (paid maternity leave in this country). She earns more than I could even if I did get a job. I think playing the role of @home father will be far better than dumping the child in care from a young age, the result being it doesn't see either parent. She is just as much for this as I am, not like I need help convincing her.

Money isn't an issue; I was a spoiled brat while I was single and got lucky with a partner who is well off. As a man, it's just bizarre to find myself in these circumstances, I feel more like a pet dog.
