So it's been a fun month at work. I've worked over 300 hours this past month and today was my first day off since I started this last project. The source of this you might ask? Well the female developer who was assigned her own project. I want to preface that I don't hate women, but I do despise working them. This is why.

The story starts 8 months ago. Another local company was scaling back it's workers in the same industry as us and let go a lot of people. One of them was a woman we will call 'The Cunt'. Now I had heard stories from other ex-developers of this company that The Cunt was quite the lazy person and was getting cut because in the 2 years she was at the company, she failed to deliver a single complete project, often relying on others to finish the task and blame shifted a lot(this is key).

Well as our company inbox floods with applications I have a sit down with my boss. I warn him, not specifically of The Cunt, but of most of the developers coming from this place that they can be toxic and you are going to create an atmosphere much like the one that was created there. My warning falls on deaf ears as 5 people are hired, thankfully none of which were The Cunt. Unfortunately this started a clique. Friends reunited, they are attempting to bring in more of their friends that were let go. They succeeded. This is when The Cunt got hired, this was 4 months ago.

So 4 months ago is when she started her very own project. She boasted her skills, she had plenty of guys at work recommending her and she was ready to show off at how strong of a developer she is. She seemed ideal to the boss to get the job done. This was a mistake.

-Three Months Later-

There's a bit of a rumble in the office as I walk in on this particular morning. The boss isn't happy and a PM is getting chewed out. I've known for a little while that things on The Cunts project were going badly. A project that should of taken a month has now just finished 3 months of development. It's over budget and falling desperately behind. 20 minutes later I get called into my bosses office. I'm told of the situation of The Cunts project and he needs me to come on and take a look at it, to find out whats wrong and attempt to lend a hand. I'm swamped with my own work but I reluctantly agree, and looking back... I should of said no.

From the very get go I knew this was going to be bad, but little did I know just how bad it was going to be. Right off the bat... No source control used for the entire project. I was walking in blind. Alright fine, I get all the files needed from her and begin to sift through an amazing selection and assortment of files. Assuming she didn't know how to set up source control or use proper file management, I instructed her on how to get set up. I'm just a super fucking nice guy. Anyways, a day passes and I walk into my bosses office to deliver my report.

The basic rundown of the project? Absolutely fucked. Designed poorly, programmed even worse by someone who thought they were smarter and more experienced then me as they rewrote(albeit very poorly) my entire core source we use as a blank slate for all projects. When asked why? "Well what was there wasn't compatible with my own work style". I could of died laughing. So with what I told my boss, he wants me on it full time. She's going to be removed from it and I'm going to take over completely and do what I need to to get the job done.

Now I'm not a perfect developer, I make mistakes just like everyone else. I made the mistake of thinking I could use anything she wrote to work with. After a week of fighting with a horrendous pile of shit, I decide to write the damn thing from scratch. Luckily I did too. So here I am, a month later.. project complete (minus some bugs from testing) but shit happens.

You know, if this was all there was to the story, I would be happy. But no, of course not. I got called into my bosses office, closed door. Guess what guys?! I got brought up on harassment. That's right, in her shame of getting her project handed off, she stated that I harassed her and have been slandering her around the office. I instantly went into pissed off mode. I told him he better present me with some evidence because I can show him all the conversation logs I've ever had with her (My first time talking to her was at the beginning of this project) and if he wants to pursue this, I would be lawyer-ing up.

But wait, there's more! Of those 300 hours I did, I would receive no bonus compensation, in either dollar or day off form. I will only be paid for my 9-5 hours. Apparently I did them all Pro Bono. Yay... Then, the absolute kick to the nuts, The Cunt got the project I wanted. Yup, that's right, apparently being incompetent and having a pussy gets you your desired projects.

/End Rant(I could go on, but I'm tired beyond belief and I need to go pass out).

TL;DR - New woman at work fucks up royally on a project she was left alone on because she was arrogant. She failed, I get called to step in to fix it, get royally fucked over.

As the great general said, be prepared to withdraw when the enemy is stronger then you. And to elude the enemy.

OP has already lost this battle. She out smarted him from day one. And he fell into the trap of fixing the problem.

He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight. He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces. He will win whose army is animated by the same spirit throughout all its ranks. He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared. He will win who has military capacity and is not interfered with by the sovereign.

The woman is on probation, but she played the harassment card. If she is smart when she gets fired she will file a harassment case, even if she loses the case she still wins. Probably the company will not fight it out, but will settle. Regardless what happens OP loses.

OP should retreat, just do his job and nothing else, in the meantime put his energy into getting a new job or something.

Basically I was given the instruction "Do whatever it takes to get it done" and so I did. It was only afterwards that they informed me they don't pay OT or bank hours. In the end, I fucked up by not verifying this, needless to say they won't be getting any more free hours from me.

Yes, she did get paid to sit on her ass for 3 months and pretend to be smart. I believe she did really attempt to make a working project, no doubt about it, but her level of intelligence in the field she chose is low. This is what bothers me, women get hired on based on them solely being women, instead of actually on merit. We've had men perform much better then her that didn't cost us 3 months salary who were let go because they wern't strong, why is she getting a second chance? The pussypass, that's why. As for the project credit, she's still going to get some (ugh) but not all, and she'll never take my bosses place. Simply put he'll never go any higher so there's nowheres for him to go.

From looking at your previous posting history. Intellectually you are a really smart guy. How the world works you are very niave and stupid, I used to be the same way. You need to change your belief system on how the world works.

Get rid of this idea, it is harmful.

This is what bothers me, women get hired on based on them solely being women, instead of actually on merit.

You have the illusion people get rewarded by merit. The reality is people get rewarded by the image they portray. The woman outsmarted you politically, and I have seen men do the same thing. So what can you do about it ?

One of the earliest forms of political propaganda was "Caesars Conquest of Gaul". There was always a great rivalry between Caesar and Pompeii. Pompeii got appointed to a rich province in Asia, where there was lots of opportunity for loot and glory. Ceasar got Gaul, the worst province which had no riches was in a constant state of rebellion and was constantly getting raided by Germanic barbarians.

This was an age before instant communications. For five years Pompeii was forgotten in Asia. The "Conquest of Gaul" was originally a set of news dispatches sent every month or so by dispatch rider to Rome. This is an age before TV, so they would be posted in public places, and everyone could read the great and exciting things Caesar was doing. When you read "Conquest of Gaul", look at how he played divide and conquer. When his military campaign would take a bad turn, he would switch to writing about unicorns or some nonsense. Any opportunity to blow his own trumpet he used. The Germanic hordes 100 years before had captured a legion's Roman Eagles (military standards). Using deception Caesar located where the Germans had hidden these eagles and then launched a raid to recover them. He the ofcourse wrote a dispatch on how he had done this, how Roman honor had be regained. When Caesar and Pompeii would later compete for the highest position in Rome. Everyone knew the great things Caesar had done, Pompeii was forgotten.

Before 1850, adverstising of products consisted of just listening a set of specifications. By 1900, advertisers learned that a product didn't have to be better, the consumer just had to think it was better. Claude Hopkins was the first person to document in a scientific manner how to do this. In 1900, 1 ounce of gold was worth $20, and good wages where $40 a month. Hopkins during this period was being paid $100,000 per year as a copywriter. In 1923 he wrote a book called "Scientific Advertising" which documents how he made great ads. Following Hopkins was another advertising pioneer called Oglivy. He is responsible for most of the major brands today. Like Hopkins he also wrote a series of advertising books. Read them also.

Where is this going ? You work for someone else they will get rich, you will be a wage slave. If you want to become an independent consultant or have your own company you will need to know how to market.

For the modern market you need to be able to target your product to niches. The only way you can do this is practice. You can do this while being a wage slave. Find a cheap product someone else made, and using FB or google ads experiment with making a landing page and trying to sell it. You can do this for just a few hundred dollars.

There is a lot of TRP in marketing. It is like picking up chicks. There are the basic principles, but for each chick you will have to tailor your product (you) to fullfill her real desires.

99% of people are not going to do what I recommend. Or maybe they will try and give up after a few defeats. This is a continous learning process. I often come across as a know it all, but just reading things here or other places spurs ideas in my head, gets me thinking of things in a new way. The 99.9% will continue being a wage slave and whine about how the world sucks.

TRP is about marketing or giving women what they want.

Sort of. Sort of not. TRP is about becoming a more naturally male man. Physical improvement alone, as you point out, isn't going to prove a reliable means of doing this. Yes, one should be fit, but beyond that, it's gravy, and wasted gravy at that if one doesn't improve one's other parts of life - profession, activities, intellectual pursuits, hobbies and interests, friends, entertainments, etc.

Marketing is communication, right? There is no marketing at all without some form of communication, whether visual, aural, tactile, etc. So yes, one communicates (unless one doesn't, much, as with MGTOW). So that's where wit, intellect, charm and a lot of subtle "game" come in. But "giving women what they (really) want" is less about marketing and more, in the real TRP world, about BEING what they really want. In other words, it's "natural" marketing. No falsehoods need to occur at all

Okay. Write a FORMAL complaint. Be polite. Point out you were given an ORDER to do this. You complied. Were there progress reports along the way? Did they know, as you were doing it, of time put in? If so, and you document this AND present this to them, along with a specific request to be compensated, then you have a basis for taking the complaint to labor officials should they refuse.

Look, you're posting in TRP. So let me tell you, it's very beta to roll over on this. Think of it as holding frame. The very least you want is an in-writing admission that it was ordered, you did the work acceptably, and you aren't going to be given any compensation.

Realize also that if they balk at writing that, it's because they KNOW they are screwing you in a way that might bring them trouble.

Now for the kicker: You actually have nothing to lose. Obviously you will never be fired for making your case on this, so don't be afraid. Stand up, say what is true and right. And while you may allow for differing viewpoints, don't shift your own on this.

I mean - come on - you were ready to lawyer up over allegations you slandered The Cunt, but being paid even poorly for the work you did is NOT cause to take this up?

Look, you need to get a better understanding of frame if you are seriously asking me how you didn't roll over. And also of exactly HOW one "holds" frame. I know - you're going to say that you do. And maybe you DO understand it. So, giving you the benefit of that doubt, let me turn it around:

How isn't what you did an example of failing to hold frame?

And I'm not referring to your response when accused of harassment, but about not being paid. Here's the lowdown: TRP isn't about just how you respond to and manage relationships (of any kind) with women; it's about becoming a better, more alpha male. Not by putting on an "alpha suit" and strutting around the ladies spouting carefully crafted "alpha lines" - but by actually becoming more dominant in your life, over your life, and in relationships with others. The exact same "holding frame" advice that applies with women applies with other relationships. Yes, you have to also have some finesse, because dominant doesn't mean "assertive asshole" (except when it does).

So your rant showed that you did nothing at all about not being compensated fairly. That's rolling over, okay? Now, if you omitted something, let us know. I made all this pretty clear in my comment above.

Edit: I almost always work for startups. I like it. But I also make sure I end up placed just below the principles. By which, I mean, I make sure not only that I have their ear, but that they want to hear what I have to say. I can't really explain how I do this, but I always have ended up the confidante (in terms of the technologies I work in) for the principles. At the risk of hubris, it's an alpha thing (see footnote). If I can't go to the founder(s) or, in rare cases, CEO/GM, the company isn't for me. And I never work for one that's big enough to have an HR. My point is that I understand the type of environment in which you're working very well.

(footnote:) And at the risk of ire, I've noticed that real alphas get attacked a bit on TRP (always by pissed off betas who don't like one's tone). Tough shit. Take a better look, because this is where you should be headed. If you can't tolerate another confident man around you, all the better for us - alphas can see that instantly, and take advantage of it.
