TL/DR: If you want to change yourself change your habits.
Body: Your habits can be permanently altered fairly easily. Studies have shown that it takes an average of 3 weeks (21 days) to form a new habit or break an old one. This is the reason monk mode is so effective. If you do (or don't do) something consistently your psyche can make or break connections that linked that activity to habit.
In making a RP transformation the first thing you will notice this with is lifting. It is hard to go to the gym for those first few weeks. You will have moments sitting on your couch or coming home from work when you think, "I don't really need to go today. I'll go tomorrow." This is what keeps people from making that change permanent. It gets put off and it keeps what would have been a good habit from becoming one. But if you make a concerted effort to plan and execute regular workouts for those first 3 weeks it becomes easy.
For me it has been 3 months since starting to lift and about 2 months since finding TRP. Getting to the gym is compulsory now. I go 3-4 days, usually after work, and it doesn't even cross my mind to skip a day. I do move around lifting sessions due to work or social obligations because I know that I have the discipline now to do so, but don't make the mistake of doing this too soon.
This goes for anything. I've done the same with bad habits like video games, tv, wasting time on the internet, etc. as well as good habits like going to events, practicing guitar, reading, and meditating.
Lessons Learned: This is how we change. This is how we grow. Make good habits, break bad ones.
