Either be direct. Send a text now or next time you see her arrange a 1 ON 1 date. Your place with wine or whatever jazz and fuck her. If she refuses or can't make it and DOESN'T offer another time, leave her. Go fuck another girl and she'll come crawling back, which you can either nail her then or just throw her to the ground.

How would you approach them? Thought a little about it and decided an immediate greeting as she arrives with an opener like 'hey kirsten glad you could make it. is this another of your friends from class?' with an emphasis on friend being platonic would be the most effective

There could be a plethora of reasons but if I have to make an educated guess, she was trying to gauge your reaction by arousing jealousy. Women look for weaknesses in men all the time. Thats what a shit test is. It doesn't necessarily have to be a verbal shit test. Women can read cues from your facial expression.

Anyways, you have to grow some balls. You should have introduced yourself to the people around her and then quickly isolated her. Then you should have escalated physically.
