So I've been a RPer for a while. Succeeded at a few things, failed at more. Either way, I keep reading, keep improving, always try to progress. There have been setbacks, but I try not to focus on it.
I'm rereading all the books I've ever read because I've hit a pause where I didn't know what to read next and it's been a while, so I thought a review would be good.
I get to the line in Athol's primer where he says to a small child, "Before you give her a hug, make her day three things nice about you."
I think my relationship with my wife has improved vastly over the last 12 months but I tried it anyway, kind of fun for, but I think it will work well, knowing what I know. Something basic... "will you hand me that?" Me: "Tell me something to make me feel good." Or.. I'm in the kitchen, "will you get me a glass of water when you're there?" Me: "show me your tits."
The response wasn't, "why can't you just do it for me?" Which is what I used to get when I'd just say something passive aggressive and do it (me a year ago) and the result would be we go to bed not talking to each other after a fight. Instead she does it, smiles, giggles at the silliness of it, and we both feet what we want.
She appreciates it, feels better, respects me more, and overall, increases the love in our marriage.
Sometimes we get hooked on game, be it kino or whatever the fuck term we've learned this week, but we still need the basic shit... it'll get you 80% of the way there. The other shit will come in time. Don't get me wrong, for those of us that are married... it means that we constantly have to game, but that's not what this post is about.
By the way... Typed on my phone, so excuse any stupid errors, I'll fix them if you find them.
