So this summer I've been rooming with my older brother's best friend from college in order to save money for the upcoming school year. This guy (who we'll call Jerry) is a classic alpha. Tall, good-looking, smiley, cocky, has his own law practice, the guy has it made in a lot of ways. Strangely enough though, his weakness lies in his romantic delusions. This dude seems to have a taste for romcoms idealizing a feminized, Hollywood attitude of the perfect romantic relationship.

After observing his behavior for some time (as well as recounting many of my brother's humorous stories of him from his own days of living with Jerry) I've come to realize that Jerry's ultimate conflict comes from the fact that his alpha prowess has come so naturally to him his whole life that since he's never had to think about or dissect the theories of attraction, he attributes his primal success to being the romantic "nice guy".

With this being said we go out drinking for the first time this last Friday. We end up at a nice little bar with a dance area and the party is hopping. There's a decent ratio of attractive women around and part of me is kind of excited to go out on the hunt with Jerry (who's had way more experience than women than I have, so I'm thinking he's going to be a great wingman). So we're getting drinks at the bar, shooting the shit and observing the scene when suddenly Jerry is set upon by two women. I'm a little concerned (since he definitely has me beat in the height, looks and experience departments) that they're both just going to for for him and ignore me (as has been the case in a few of my past, pre-redpill days going out with a more experienced buddy).

But I continue to play it cool, keep myself non-intrusive, with no air of desperation or need of attention whatsoever (I play it sigma style, a hard contrast from Jerry). For a split moment I face forward to take another swig of my beer when suddenly I feel two arms wrapping around me very sensually, breasts squeezed against my back. The shorter of the two women is suddenly behind me, talking into my ear. A part of me (the beta that has yet to be fully extinguished) is excited about this physical attention, but I begin to realize there's something that stinks of suspicion here as she's not trashed. I clearly knew she was trying to use me for something but I remain calm, distant and nonchalant.

Her: Hi, your friend told me about you.

Me: Oh yeah? Looks like you're in a cuddly mood tonight.

Her: What's the deal with your friend?

Me: He likes to dry hump people.

Her: Hahaha! What's his name?

Me: Jerry

Her: K, thanks! (immediately releases embrace)

The two women retreat interested in Jerry and as our conversation resumes he proceeds to pat me on the head like a goddamn puppy. Jerry and I get bored and leave the bar and discuss what had just happened.

Me: That was weird. What did you tell that chick who had me in that brace?

Jerry: That you're a really nice guy.

Me: ...What?

Jerry: Yeah I was helping you out.

Me: ...Do you understand that you telling them I was a "nice guy" was the equivalent to "tool"? That's why number 2 tried to blatantly use me with the subtlety of a baboon, because she thought I was a highly gullible tool prone to being fooled by feminine wiles.

The more I tried to explain it to him, the more confused/dismissive he seemed to be. At one point Jerry even suggested at the next venue that we utilize the asshole/white knight dynamic to get me laid. He suggested that he plays the asshole and that I swoop in to defend her. Even upon further explanation of how stupid that idea was he was still oblivious. Either he was trying to use me and keep the glory for himself (even my older brother told me about his infamous inability to share during college, likely brought about by only child syndrome) or he really is deluded by falsely labeling his alpha prowess as a feminine, hollywood ideal of white knighting and romanticism. Either way (or hell, maybe a bit of both) he was a bad wingman. I think I'll go solo next time.

EDIT: Thanks for the thoughts/advice, gents. This was one of my first experiences going out post-redpill so it was really eye-opening for me. I'm looking forward to a great surge of success upon further research and solo game.
