I was just browsing TRP and something clicked for me. Birffault's Law, which I've always accepted as true, has just never been something I could internalize, until now.

AF/BB is gross. It's an oversimplification of something well understood: women seek the genetic material of alpha men and the resources of beta men. The piecewise AF/BB paradigm is just a way of differentiating between the types of resources men have to offer. If we consider the genetic material of the alpha man a resource, then we don't need to make the distinction necessarily; women seek the resources of men. If the man is an alpha male, then he has superior genetic material, whereas beta males lack that resource and must use money to replace it. As men we want to be genetic material propagators, which is why we make the distinction between alpha and beta, but the law defining female behavior isn't piecewise.

Birffault's Law is not only limited to our material resources (money), it includes our capacity to provide a female with superior offspring.

This makes things easier for me to understand, and I hope it helps others as well.
