I'm currently sitting at the bar of a local bbq place waiting for my lunch, watching some shit go down that I can't help but share.

Next to me, right now, is an older woman. 4/10 as far as 60 year olds go. I walked in, she was flirting heavily with the guy next to her, 45 year old beta, looked terrified. He went to leave, she took a shot to get his number, and he stammered his way to a refusal. I soon learned why.

The bartender came by, and I'm quoting what this lady said to her "I just moved back here this week from Florida. It's been 6 years, I ran away from my boyfriend (whispers) he was an abuser. We used to come here all the time. Could you take a picture of me here so I can send it to him?"

No fucking shit, swear to god, those words just came out of her mouth. Went on to share some cute memories here with him.

I had to prod a little, while waiting for my food. Turns out, she couldn't find anyone "special", and decided to come back. Implying, back for him.

Now, of course, abusing anyone is wrong, and an alpha will never ever need to do that. But, the fact is, this single lady moved to the other side of the country to escape an abusive relationship, has moved back, and one of the first things she does is try to reach out to her abusive ex because she still has tingles.

But wait, there's more.

My food came, she turned her attention to the bartender, who is obviously pregnant.

Lady mentions at least a half dozen times about how she has no kids. (I'm writing this while listening and eating.) Pries and pries and pries into the specifics, until the bartender eventually blows her off. Lady excuses herself to smoke a cigarette, making it a point to grab my arm and tell me she'll be right back.

Bartender looked at me, rolled her eyes, and said "I'm such a nice person, I'm such a nice person", I replied "at least you're not the one she wants to take home".

So, now she's back, checking her phone incessantly to see if her abusive Chad from 6 years ago has replied to her picture. She mentioned how she has no place, can't afford a place, implying she's looking for a man to take care of her.
