Hey everyone,

I've waded through this subreddit for a little over a year. When I found it, I was with my (now ex) girlfriend and I was a happy bluepill bitch. I lived and breathed her essence and making sure SHE was happy so that I would be happy.

Needless to say, after five years, it burned me out and I told her I needed to do some thinking. Unsurprisingly, she left me for a friend. That was my big, real slap in the face and warning: The Red Pill is real. AWALT. Everything started to flood my brain and I dived into this subreddit every day, trying to find some secret to becoming a better person.

It's been half a year since then and I'd like to think I've gotten better. I take less shit, I find myself thinking about ME, and what I want to do. I go to the gym and take care of my body and appearance.

The problem now lies with how I act. I don't want to be the asshole because I don't present that very well. I still get my bluepill urges, my almost overwhelming sense of empathy that washes over me, begging me to be nice no matter what, to give in to the women around me, to validate everyone's existence but my own and I find myself lacking a lot of power in social situations.

So, r/theredpill, I know this is a place of self-improvement. I've read the sidebar; I've perused and read a few books recommended on this sub; I've tried to be a complete and utterly different person regarding my dealings with friends, strangers, acquaintances and the like. Too often I find myself giving myself entirely while everyone holds power over me, minus the very select few I find boring.

I'm finding it hard to be successful with people, women, and life in general. So, I know that this isn't meant to be an easy road, and that the law of nature determines which will rule and which will die out, but all I need is some advice. Just a good, strong motto or insightful wisdom.

Thank you.
