Disclosure: I am going to write stream of consciousness style. Please bear with me.
I think a lot of people here focus on what to do to improve yourself as a man (lift, read, work, have a hobby), but not much is said on the process of accurately assessing one’s SMV and standing.
Reading TRP helped me understand women better, and told me what I need to do to be more fulfilled as a man, however, it did not teach me how to effectively assess my standing or SMV. I don’t know if it’s because I got a lot of love growing up from my parents, or I have close male friends that I grew up with for over 15 years, but I had a deep confidence in my own being that, for the longest time, made me delusional with respect to my SMV. I thought I was better than I was and this prevented me from improving upon myself further. It was only after I faced a total rejection by a girl I thought I was on par with that I faced the reality of my situation. Only then could I become objective.
I have a theory as to why it took so long to come to terms with myself.
Per TRP, I had been lied to all of my life as to what women found valuable (i.e. a nice guy, a good degree, a good job, a supporter of women). Basing myself off of these standards, I thought that I was the shit! I have all of these things! Where are all the women? It’s not that I refused to believe I wasn’t the shit. I just honestly couldn’t grasp how I could not be the shit based on the standards I was measuring myself against.
Then TRP showed itself to me like a mirror. It showed me the standards upon which I am judged (I’m not going to list them because you guys all know them). And while the good degree and good job are still valuable to me as a man, I view those accomplishments in a different light now as it pertains to my value to women.
So on a grand scale, TRP did help me come to terms with myself. It helped me assess my SMV and standing by being a mirror, or a book of standards upon which I can measure myself up against. The deeper question I pose to all of you though is this: What happens when you are wearing colored lenses? What happens when you are wearing glasses that distort your view? What happens if you drunk on your own self-confidence that it makes you twist what TRP standards reflect about your standing?
I would like to begin a discussion on how to accurately assess one’s own SMV and standing. Do you need another redpiller to look at you and tell you your SMV? Do you have to face a traumatic experience of rejection (like me) to break down your image of yourself to then accurately assess yourself? I would like to try to set up a step by step “Redpill’s Guide to assessing your SMV.”
Please advise brothers.
Edit:
P.S. I guess the implied point of this post is that in order to begin improving upon yourself, you need to first come to terms with what you are, and what you are lacking in.
If I had to pick a place to start, I would suggest:
1. Go clubbing. Approach 100 women. 39 do not reject you. Your SMV is 39.
